With a 20 year background in the practice of insurance and commercial litigation, Scott has been called on to render expert opinions in a variety of areas. He has particular expertise in workers’ compensation issues, insurance premium litigation, as well as insurance coverage and policy form and endorsement compliance. Scott has presented to numerous industry groups and is a frequent speaker at CLE presentations.
Scott is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been named to the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyer list for multiple years in the field of insurance coverage. In addition to work as a testifying expert, Scott offers consulting expert services in claims handling disputes. With an early claims file review, Scott can often give guidance to trial counsel on key claims handling issues to focus on in the preparation of the case. To control litigation costs, file reviews are performed on a flat fee basis.
Youth Sports Association/Soccer Training and Coaching – Standard of Care – (View Resume)
Scott possesses a unique skill set, as both an attorney and a long time board member of numerous youth sports associations that permit him to render opinions on the standard of care owed by a youth sports association or youth soccer coach to the league’s participants. Scott has served on the Board of Directors of five different youth sports associations, including stints as the President of a 1300 player association and a 1000 player association.
On the coaching and training side, Scott’s credentials are equally impressive. He holds national level coaching licenses from both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation. He has served as an NCAA head soccer coach for both men’s and women’s teams, a select club director of coaching and a state team head coach for the Olympic Development program. With over 20 years experience coaching select and collegiate level soccer players, Scott can credibly render standard of care opinions involving soccer coaching and training issues.

Scott has represented clients in trial and appellate proceedings across the State of Texas. His docket has taken him from Houston to El Paso, and from Corpus Christi to Wichita Falls, and many points in between. He has worked for national law firms, local mid-sized firms and litigation boutiques.
